Carlin
Country Cottages is truly a family endeavor.
In 1994, Dennis and Lorrie Carlin, found a multi-unit residential
property within walking distance of several spas, restaurants
and a nine hole golf course, at the top of the Napa Valley,
in the quiet friendly town of Calistoga.
Dennis acted as general contractor
to renovate the fifteen bungalows into cozy country cottages.
Son's Dennis Jr., Matthew as well as son-in-law Jerry, worked
on the project as frame and finish carpenters. Matthew, also
a tile contractor, put his handiwork to use in each and every
cottage. Daughters, Georgi, Julie and Erin, designed the extensive
landscape and gardens in the central courtyard surrounded by
the cottages and towering Elm trees.
Gena, the youngest of the six, earned a degree in hotel and
restaurant management and opened and managed the business in
1995. With the help of her mother, Lorrie, Gena has tastefully
decorated all of the cottages using Shaker style, country furniture
and an Irish country motif. Seven of the cottages have large
mineral Jacuzzi tubs and the rest offer fully equipped kitchens.
Queen and King size beds available. Some cottages are one and
two room suites suitable for families and parties of 4-6.
